"My love for old houses started in 1985 when I started working for a company on Cape Cod that performed restorations on old historic homes. I learned the trade the old fashioned way, with traditional joinery and tooling from an incredibly talented craftsman. We performed authentic ground-up restorations, custom built cabinetry and custom duplicated period moldings.”
After 5 years with this company, Dag ventured out and started his own full service remodeling company on Cape Cod, during which time he earned a degree in Finance and Investment from Babson College. Upon his graduation he shifted his career and worked as an investment analyst and portfolio manager, and while he found success in this field, rarely did a weekend go by without him donning a tool belt. In 2003 Dag decided it was time to pay attention to his inner voice and return to the field that ignited his passion. He accepted a position as a project manager for a highly respected large construction company that focused on commercial and high end residential construction, and it wasn’t long after that he seized an opportunity to once again start his own company.
“I started GraceHill Construction in 2005 and I am so fortunate to now have a team of incredibly talented craftsmen who have the capability to take on any size and type of project. The diversity we have in our abilities is one of the most rewarding part of our work. From large custom homes to additions and renovations of any size, we have the ability to bring our skill and attention to detail to so many exciting projects.”
Outside the walls of construction you will find Dag enjoying all that life has to offer outdoors. Whether he is gliding across the water as the wind carries his sailboat or trekking through the snowy woods with his wife and daughter, there is rarely a moment you will find him idle.
“I believe in working hard and also making time for family and play time. It’s not always easy, but having that balance in life is a priority. I am truly blessed to love what I do, and there’s nothing better than seeing the look on a homeowner’s face when the project is done and they know it will change their life. It’s just a great feeling.”
